Preparing for a move is always stressful. Between packing and unpacking, loading and unloading, and trying to get settled in your new area, moving is never easy. That is especially true now amid the COVID-19 outbreak worldwide.
This pandemic has added another level of complexity to an already difficult process, making moves seem unbearable at times. Here at Choice Moving Company, we want to assure you that our moving company is here to help. Deemed an essential business, our Fort Collins movers are here to ease the load and doubt.
We understand that in many situations, moving cannot wait. Whether it be a job relocation, the end of a lease term, or any other situation, our professional movers have the experience to safely care for your goods while practicing social distancing.
Our Response to COVID-19
Because moving is oftentimes not flexible, we are still operating in as full of a capacity as possible. We recognize the importance of ensuring safety throughout this process, and we’re continuing to follow strict sanitation guidelines, including:
- Following federal and local regulations regarding social distancing
- Sanitizing trucks and moving equipment frequently
- Wearing masks and gloves to limit the spread of the virus
- Stocking trucks and employees with hand sanitizer
By practicing social distancing, both among our moving teams and our customers, we are able to continue to provide full-service moves, loading and unloading services, and packing and unpacking services for both commercial and residential properties.
How to Prepare for Your Move
While we are doing everything to keep our customers and employees healthy during the move, there are also steps you can follow to help do the same.
1. Clean While Packing
While you may have already taken extra cleaning precautions throughout your home during COVID-19, there are likely still some areas that have not been cleaned frequently enough. As you pack away items, clean them with disinfecting wipes so you can have a clean setup at your new location.
2. Stay Organized
To the best of your abilities, try to stay ahead of your move and any unforeseen problems by remaining organized. We understand that moving can be hectic, but having things packed away before we arrive not only makes the process faster and smoother, it also makes it safer. The virus can last up to 24 hours on cardboard surfaces, so having items ready at least a day before the move can help limit the spread.
3. Remain Communicative
If you have a pre-scheduled move, reach out to Choice Moving Company to ensure the date and the time are still doable. If you are expecting a move, call us immediately to schedule your moving services. Transparency is imperative throughout the process, so please let us know if anyone in your family is symptomatic or has been exposed to the disease. We will do our best to still work with you and follow additional protocols.
Regardless of what’s happening in the world, Choice Moving Company is still committed to you. Our moving company in Denver and Fort Collins can help ease your worries during this time. Reach out to us today to learn more or to schedule your moving services!
